When Michelle pulls an old book out of a fire, she finds answers and heartbreak. The book confirms that a demon walks the land, though according to legend they were all dead. Now, she needs to rediscover the secrets to killing demons before her loved ones fall victim.
Elron’s budding relationship with Michelle suffers a blow when his mate returns. While he struggles with love and guilt, it becomes clear that not everyone gets their happily-ever-after.

This is the third book in a series, following Witch for Hire and A Witch's Path. Your reading experience will be greatly enhanced if you've read the previous books.

A Witch Trial A Witch Path Book 3 eBook N E Conneely

The Witch's Path series is a charming, slightly absurd, and engrossing tale of strong young woman. A witch.
Unlike many modern novels in the witch, werewolf, vampire, etc.. genres, all of the various fantastical species are fully acknowledged and exist side-by-side with humans..humans being the youngest, and possibly the least significant of the species, at least to the minds of the non-humans.

Ms Connelly effectively uses alternating chapters to allow her two main characters, Michelle and Elron, a chance to narrate the story from their own point of view.

Michelle is a Witch who's life does not follow the prescribed path of most Witches. Elron is a widowed, and still grieving, Elf who has been forced by a Calling to leave his quiet home in the forest and rejoin the outside world.
While doing her job as a magical consultant to, the mainly human, area police forces, Michelle captures a number of very nasty individuals. She discovers that these individuals are all part of some larger, evil plan. A Witch's Trial continues on directly from the events of the earlier books in the series.

Who will help Michelle identify this evil force? Will she find a way to vanquish her enemy before it destroys her family and her friends? Is this the "great thing" that her unusual clan symbol claims is her destiny? With the sudden reappearance of his thought-to-be dead wife, will Michelle's budding romance with the cranky Elf, Elron, survive the fallout? Can you ride a pink and purple t-rex dinosaur without breaking your neck?
Read A Witch's Trial to find out. I enjoyed it, I hope you do too.

A Witch Trial A Witch Path Book 3 eBook N E Conneely Reviews

I thought this book in the series was the best one so far and am looking forward to book #4! It continues with Elron and Michelle's journey fighting demons and dealing with the different clans. I would suggest this series to those of you who love the paranormal and those of you who do not like books with curse words throughout (something that does not bother me but I have seen this complaint many times in reviews of various authors) Thank you N.E. Conneely for writing such a great series!
This book is number three of an unknown number. If you are reading this review and haven't read #'s 1 & 2, I caution you to be careful. These stories/books are addictive. I read # 1 and had to immediately buy 2 & 3 and read them. And I am not a big fan of this genre. No formatting errors that I could find, however with every book there are more and more grammatical errors and they do interfere with my reading enjoyment. A thought, maybe Conneely has put a spell on them. Magic anyone? Anyway, ENJOY!!!!!!!! I did!!!
This is the third in the Witch's Path series, and it does not disappoint. While I agree with another reviewer about the typos and some of the continuity issues, I did not find them glaring enough to impede my enjoyment of the story. And, while an editor would be good to help stop those, it would probably also mean a much slower path from the author's pen to my hands, which I would hate.
I loved the clans' "invitations", and was glad to finally see what scared Nancy so much about her mother. While I still don't understand her mother's namby-pamby way of handling things, I'm glad to see much more decisiveness in Michelle. I can't wait to see more of Michelle's handling of her invitations.
First, let me say I've but one issue with this book and that's the editing. Other reviews probably say something similar, but I will happily balance the scale in saying while distracting the story is more than worth it. The tension and action, the dialogue and wit, even the bits of banter and comedy keep the continuing adventures of Michelle and Elton fun and enticing to read.
The growth of the character, even ancillary ones, is well placed. The set up for the narrative is well thought out. I can't wait to see where and how the world will grown in the next book.
Easily a recommended read for anyone looking for a fun, light reading story.
I would like to point out that this series has potential. It is somewhat of a female version of the Dresden Files, but interesting. However the editing ruins the flow. There are many instances in each of the books where sentences are repeated. And many, many editing flaws. At one point Michelle is describing to her parents what has gone on...I told them about the dream (she mentions a few other facts and ends with...) but I didn't tell them about the dream. This sort of thing happens several times in A Witch's Trial. There are also many words such as "the" that are simply left out. This happens every 3-4 pages. Obviously the content is interesting, or I wouldn't have delved so far into the series, but please edit.
I have completely enjoyed all of N.E. Conneely's books. A witch's trial takes us, as well as Michelle and Elron through the most amazing battle yet. I see she recently made the switch to full time author and as long as she keeps writing like this I for one will do my best to keep her in business. She is an amazing storyteller. Three books in the same world and I have yet to have to skim a passage for too much repetition. All authors toss in a few facts from the earlier books to make the next one stand alone, but it is a talent to do it without feeling like you needed to stretch the book so you just tossed in some random fact from a previous book. Ms. Conneely has the talent! Each book can stand alone, but we don't end up with a few chapters of previous editions.

Another IMHO talent is the ability to END THE BOOK! So many indie authors feel there has to be a cliffhanger at the end of every book. N.E. Conneely just throws out a little hint. In this case we can guess the next book will have something more about the clans in it, but it is just a hint, not "Suddenly, a loud pop was heard! Oh, crap" said Michelle "as she was dematerialized" Find out more in our next edition!!!

I am so tired of cliffhangers.
