Jessica Austin was the last of her line; her parents had tragically died eight years prior and she ran the century-plus old family ranch without a husband or even the slightest desire for one. She had learned long ago that wandering cowboys would only bring heartbreak and she was too strong a woman to allow a man to love her and leave her. That's why Jessica was shocked to find herself unwillingly falling for the handsome and argumentative Dalton McBride, who showed up on her land and blackmailed her into giving him a job at the ranch. When a misguided clause in her father's will threatens to rip away everything she has, Jessica is drawn into a faux marriage with Dalton that will change her life forever.Under Texas Skies is reminiscent of Sandra Brown's Texas! trilogy, featuring strong, stubborn cowboys and even stronger, more stubborn women. Readers will find themselves both loving and hating Dalton, much in the same manner Jessica does. Romance fans are sure to appreciate the emotional twists and turns of Under Texas Skies, where the thunderstorms of Texas become a main character in their own right.

Under Texas Skies edition by Ginger Voight Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Well thought out sweet story. For the most part. Great developed plot and relatable characters. Definitely enjoyed the paceof the tale. Wonderfully descriptive. However, near the end there when things are revealed I found myself disapproving of the lead characters. Of the situation and how it was handled and explained. I feel author could have found a better way of hinting at certain things that wouldnt have led to me hating the leads for their choice. If not for that this would have earned five stars. As it stands everything else was an enjoyable read.
*Real rating for me is 3.5*
This story was very sweet, and flowed quite easily in my opinion. I love country romances, especially when there's a sexy bull rider involved! I absolutely love that Jess has fought her way through the ranks to stand on her own two feet as the boss lady, and it doesn't hurt that she's shaped like most of us really are!
There were some grammatical errors (such as commas and missing words), although they are easily fixable. At first I was able to identify with and feel for Jess, but sometimes she seemed like a stranger because her personality seemed to change.
Overall, I quite enjoyed this and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a sweet romance or enjoys stories about strong women in general.

So don't get me wrong here. The plot was great and all. And very unexpected... But I'm more pissed off than anything. The way he treated her... The crap he pulled... The running off and then the ohh now we are happy forever (in like the last two pages) really leaves a bad taste in my mouth. It's like she just gave up and this jerk who was. A jerk from the beginning is the ruler of her life... As if! This ultimately just angers me... And how can you get a hea with the last three pages of the book? It's like the ending was too rushed and Jess just forgave him for all the crap he did. No thank you.
Just okay, nothing to write home about. Nice read, easy and uncomplicated. Although the heroine was a bit annoying and talkative...
it was a good book at first I thought I would not like but as I read it I found I couldn't put it down
Long time ago a young girl found a gorgeous cowboy a few years older than herself but decided to be brave a flirt a little- that changed her life and eventually how she would treat all cowboys.
